Stabilizers (often called 'stabs') are keyboard parts that prevent larger keys from wobbling when pressed, and help bind the keycap to the switch. They sit next to the keyboard switch to stabilize the keycap when you press it.

These Magic Girl edition stabs feature colorways to match with your Magic Girl keycaps.

About the stabilizers
  • PCB mount, screw-in
  • Pre-clipped stems
  • Secure housings that prevent wires from popping out
  • Magic Girl Classic colorway: Mint housing, Pink stem, and Emerald Green wire
  • Dark Magic Girl colorway: Navy housing, Purple stem, and Purple wire

These stabilizers are sold in sets, and include:

  • 5x – Sets of stabilizer stems and housings
  • 4x – 2u stabilizer wire
  • 1x – 6.25u stabilizer wire
  • 1x – 7u stabilizer wire
  • Screws and washers

This means you'll have four 2u stabilizers and one spacebar stabilizer, for either a 6.25u or 7u spacebar.

Stabilizers 101

When building keyboards, keys that are 2u or larger require a stabilizer. On a standard keyboard layout, this includes keys like the two Shift keys (2.25u and 2.75u), Enter (2.25u), Backspace (2u), and Spacebar (6.25u).

If you're not sure how many stabilizers you need, count up the number of keys on your keyboard layout that are 2u or larger. A 2u key is twice the length of a 1u key (i.e. the letters or numbers).
